Aperol Spritz
If you check out Drink International’s article about the top-selling cocktails of the year, you’ll definitely see some familiar faces. Old-fashioned, dry martinis, margaritas, and mojitos all make the list. But one drink that caught our attention this year was the Aperol Spritz! If you are looking for a refreshing treat, then the Aperol Spritz is the drink for you!
This week’s episode of Be Your Own Bartender is all about the Aperol Spritz. Aperol Spritzes are made with Aperol liqueur, an Italian spirit that has been around for over 100 years. Aperol’s website describes their liqueur as the “perfect infusion of bitter and sweet oranges.” It has a lightly alcoholic nose with zesty orange with complex herbal scents harmonized with a touch of vanilla. While there are several different recipes out there (we suggest to try them out!), we went with this recipe from Cookie + kate that includes Aperol, Prosecco, and club soda. We have several different bottles of prosecco in stock, but a bottle of champagne would work just as well!
Recipe
- 3 ounces (1 part) Aperol
- 3 ounces (1 part) Prosecco
- A splash of club soda
- An orange slice garnish
Thanks again for watching Be Your Own Bartender. Make sure to watch and read about all of the other great drinks that we have made!
Until then, cheers!
